About Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

User Reviews about Schwinn 130 Upright Exercise Bike
Delivery was on schdule and the packing OK. I had no problems assembling the bike. In my opinion it is well built and feels solid.
The seat adjustment works but leaves a lot to be desired. The seat is uncomfortable, but that seems to be the case with all of these units.
I think it sets a bit high, but perhaps that is desirable for a very tall person.
I like the operation of the unit - it is very quiet and stable.
I do think they should have made the readout more visible - I keep a flashlight handy.
Overall, I like it. -- Schwinn 130 Upright Exercise Bike
I am very pleased with this exercise bike. It is smooth and is very, very quiet. It appears to be very well made using substantial, heavy-duty materials The innards are not visible so I can't attest to them.
The only possible negative I would point out is that the maximum level MIGHT not be hard enough someone who uses a bike at a high level. I've used a bike for a lot of years, but I've never pressed it really hard. On this bike I can go at the max level albeit at only about 55 rpms. Someone wanting a more strenuous workout can up the rpms I suppose. -- Well done!
The bike was easy to unpack and put together. I've been using it for about a month now and it works fine. I like the various workouts that are preprogrammed into it. You can also just set it to manual, adjust the resistance and begin. It's easy to use and quiet. I would give it five starts except I found the seat to be VERY uncomfortable. By the time I was hitting 25 minutes or so it was horrible. I bought a thick gel pad type bicycle seat and this did help to where it's at least tolerable now. The assembly instructions were excellent. I'm not too bad at following instructions and putting things together, but still, sometimes instructions just aren't clear which can make assembly more difficult than it needs to be. Not here. The instructions were very clear. -- Nice bike
We had a previous Schwinn exercise bike (#112) that would have cost too much to fix (the computer that was needed cost more than the bike itself), so we purchased a new one instead for about the same amount of money. The new bike arrived from UPS in a badly mangled package. Fortunately most of the parts to the bike are virtually indestructable. The one major part that does not take well to rough handling is the computer/screen that controls all of the bike's secret inner workings and provides the readout. This was completely destroyed by UPS. When I called Nautilus/Schwinn, the customer service folks were helpful, but a replacement computer was delayed nearly a month because they didn't have any in stock.Precor 9.21 Treadmill New in Box! 2008 Model -921 Tread
Once the replacement computer came, the bike worked great. However, within a week it developed a bunch of strange noises inside while being used--ratcheting and bumping and metal parts clanging. These changed in sound and intensity for about two weeks, and now have become quiet again. I called the people at Nautilus/Schwinn and they had no answers, but took note of th matter. Everything seems to be working fine now. -- Good bike, but handled poorly
