User Reviews about Stamina 15-9003 Deluxe Conversion II Recumbent Rower
This is a solid piece of machinery. There is nothing rickety or flimsy-feeling about it. I'm pretty close to the weight limit (I know, I know) and it doesn't feel creaky at all with me on it. Unlike a lot of equipment. The pictures don't really make it clear but the seat can glide freely on the rail for rowing or be locked into position for cycling. There are a lot of positions for the seat, but a very short person could have trouble. I'm 5'5" and I'm on the 3rd shortest seat position. If you are less than 5' tall you might not be able to use the bike properly. Some commenters complained that the highest-resistance setting isn't tough enough. That's certainly not going to be a problem for me as I'm just starting out my exercise program, but if you are very strong you might not find it adequate.
Setup went OK - no broken bits or cracks anywhere, and all the pieces were there and well packaged. The box it arrives in is huge and heavy. The installation instructions could be improved - as a couple other commenters mentioned, it looks like you don't have all the hardware when you compare the contents of the baggie with the instruction sheet, but many of the bolts are already in their holes so don't panic. The seat assembly is rather awkward to handle as you're trying to put it together, so if you can have someone help that would be good. I built it on my own and it took me about an hour of actual work time.
-- Really nice. Spendy, but nice.
This is my first rower and I love it. I'm really glad I decided to get the combo with the recumbent bike because it is a great way to continue the cardio after the rower kicks my bu**. Set up wasn't too bad and it has worked great from the get go. (1 month so far). -- Love it
Used it a few times and really liked it, the combination of both bike and rower was just what I was looking for. However after about 3-4 uses the fabric strap for rower began to fray. I called for warranty service and Stamina said they would send me a replacement strap. That was 7 weeks ago and apparantly the strap is still on backorder. I'm still able to use the bike which works just fine but I don't want to use the rower for fear the strap will actually break and possibly cause other problems. As of today I am rating it a 4 because I really like the unit itself, but if I don't get the strap soon (and if it doesn't solve the fraying problem) then that rating will easily go down to a 2. -- great product when its working
Well, it's not as good as I had hoped it would be but it is a useful piece of exercise equipment.Precor 9.21 Treadmill New in Box! 2008 Model -921 Tread
PROS: Rower and recumbent cycle in 1 is nice. Compact/sturdy design. No flaws in item when received as others have experienced. I'm 6'2" and max this out when rowing. If you are taller, I'd stay away.
CONS: Manual tension with limited (8) settings. Larger than size 12 shoes may have trouble when cycling to not hit heels on front stabilizer bar (see picture).
All-in-all this is a decent machine that rounds out my exercise room but wish I would have went with a comparably priced recumbent bike with auto-tensioning and preset programs. -- Useful
